Outside of Normal Processing Time Notification

I called the National Customer Service Center this morning, as my AOS receipt notification is past the 30 days the Tampa office is processing I485s (Original date was 11/30/04, finger print results January 13, 2005 - Tampa processing time for I485 is April 2005).

The lady stated that she would send a "Outside of Normal Processing Time" notification to the Tampa office and if I didn't hear anything from them within 30 days, to call back.

Anyone ever received anything after this sort of enquiry sent to a local office?

Have you tried contacting one of the Senator's offices? I have found Senator Nelson's office to be quite helpful. On his website there is a form you send explaining your situation, and they usually respond within a few weeks. We contacted them on many occasions regarding AOS and EAD, and they were always most helpful.

To answer your question regarding the status inquiry with the help line, we did one for AOS and one for the renewal EAD. We received a letter in regards to the renewal EAD weeks after we actually received the card, and never heard from them in rgeards to the AOS inquiry.

((Success))

Thanks for the reply Medusa. No, haven't contacted the Senator's Office. My AOS and I130 was "touched" in June, but nothing changed apart from the date.

I called today, just to ensure that the case is not lost, obviously not from the lady's response. I'm in two minds whether to contact anyone further, we will have been married two years in August this year, so if no interview is scheduled before then, I won't have to worry about lifting conditions on the two year card.

I'll give it the thirty days the lady suggested, and if I don't hear anything by then, I'll perhaps take the matter to the Senator.

Thanks again for your response.
