Hello everyone,

I have entered the U.S. as K1 visa sponsored by my husband. Then we got married and filed I-485 form to adjust the status.

I was told that the process will have an interview. What are questions they used to ask during the interview?

If you have gone through this situation, please let me know what questions they used to ask. I am a little nervous and want to prepare first.

Thanks!

Some K-1 folks never have an interview.

You are unlikely to be asked any "difficult" questions unless they have reason to believe that your marriage is fraudulent and that you're only trying to get a green card. Usually they ask simple questions like how you met and things like that. Here is a link to where you can read about loads of people's interview experiences:

Really, if your marriage is legitimate, you should have no problems with your interview. Good luck!

Lynda..... I found the interview process very simple and painless.... stuff like "where did you meet" and "what's your husband's date of birth"..... nothing complicated.

You get the statutory questions about being affiliated to communist parties and wanting to overthrow the government or whatever...

The important thing is.... just tell the truth, and keep it simple.

Our interview was painless... and the IO was very pleasant and put us at our ease very quickly.

Don't be nervous.... enjoy the experience!!! :)

Old and Grumpy....But an American Citizen!!!

Our interview was very simple. The all time the interviewer kept on talking instead of us and then he asked for the documents that he didn't have in his file and then he watched our marriage album....and done!....very simple as other ppl said...they can sense whether the marriage is fraudulent or not.

Thank you MamaSue and Jas Gold so much for sharing these info.

By the way, please let me know about the processing steps of filing I-485 form. We just sent and are waiting. What will be next?

Thank you.

P.S. I wonder if an applicant will have finger prints first and then USCIS will decide. Or USCIS decides and do finger prints after
