hello everybody.... :)

I am trying to get the passport office police clearance certificate...from the regional passport office at chandigarh...actually i've been staying at present location since january so I would also require the local PCC . The passport office people told me that their procedure of going about the PCC is that they send my papers to local police station and once a verification report is obtained from their they would issue me a PCC...I offered if I could get them the local district PCC just to expedite .....but they said they wont except it and would do it at their end themself

since i would also require a local PCC (as i overstayed the 06 month period)

so it would mean for local police to be doing the same check twice ......could things get easier(faster) for me .....anyway ever caught in such situation...

If we have passport office PCC for a particular address .....the local PCC seems redundant...Is it not needed??...i hope its not..please share

i don't know, if passport office sent it to local police or not,, but yes you need both the PCC, unless your passport is less than 6 month old.

My Passport office PCC came in 4 days after we applied. you have to fill out some form and pay the fees of about Rs 300.

Local police took us little bit long.

Search my post in "For CR1 IV packet submitting without PCC" forum.
