Hi rockhouse, the best thing to do is to tell your fiancee to call USEM and ask USEM if she can schedule for interview already (USEM will give the schedule if the case is already in their system). USEM will ask the case number (MNL*********) and check in their system if your case is already eligible for setting an interview schedule or not.

If your case is already eligible then they will give your fiancee the date and time for the interview and also they will ask her to choose what date will be her Medical Exam (It should be 5 days or more before her Interview date) once these are already set in their system. USEM will ask your fiancee's email add for them to send the interview schedule through email right there and then (USEM will send the schedule through email while your fiancee and the agent are still talking on phone). And that's the one she'll print and take it with her at St. Luke's Medical Center for her exam. Better to bring complete requirements to St. Luke's. When I had my medical exam the guard asked my appointment letter (interview schedule). I didn't take the chance going to Manila without my appointment letter since I'm also living in Cebu.

P.S. SORRY ABOUT THE FIRST REPLY THERE'S NO CONTENT....I MISTAKENLY HIT THE WRONG BUTTON....OOOOPS

Here is a link to an old thread i searched for. In it she breaks down the whole medical experience. She explains that the guard keeps asking for the "Appointment Letter".

OK!!! Once and for all!....CAN MY FIANCEE TAKE THE MEDICAL EXAM WITH A SCANNED COPY OF NOA2, AND THE NVC LETTER WITH MNL NUMBER???!!

She is from Cebu. She wants to get the medical over with. I don't want her to get there and have some guard turn her away cause she doesn't have the "appointment letter".

Please, if a few people can testify that they did the medical WITHOUT the "appointment letter"....then i can leave yall alone about it. :wacko:

heres the link i talked about...

hi! allow me to answer your question. dunno which is packet 3 or packet 4 anymore. anyway, the appointment letter the guard at st. luke's is looking for has the following info:

- has the letterhead from the us embassy in manila and of course dated;

- addressed to the K1 beneficiary;

- 1st paragraph: notice that the embassy is ready to begin final processing of the case blah blah;

- 2nd paragraph: enclosed forms that your fiancee will need to fill-up prior to the appointed medical exam and interview;

- at the left bottom part of the letter is the dates for interview (including time) and medical exam, case number, and name of beneficiary;

without this letter, your fiancee will not be allowed to enter the clinic. she will also need to bring this same letter on her appointed date for interview at the us embassy. she should receive the letter by post (which i did) or downloaded from the website of the us embassy (am not too sure about this).

We didn't have the Appointment letter. Had NOA2 and the letter telling us to call and schedule an interview.

Of course we already had an interview scheduled for the 9th, but we never got the Interview Appointment Letter until I called them back a second time and had them correct her Email Address, then we got it, but she was already done with the Medical exam by this point. She's already prepared everything she needs to take with her to the interview, we have one form to correct and one to fill out. Then done.

As long as you can prove the MNL case #, I don't see why the guard won't let you in. It's not his business to know the details of your affairs, his only concern is that you actually have a case #.

By the way, I read that Packet 4 is no longer mailed out. You have to go online and fill out the forms now.

I would suggest that you simply call and set an interview date. If something comes up in the medical St. Lukes will contact the embassy and reschedule for you.

Is there a reason that you have not scheduled your interview??

Well......his fiancee has already had and passed her interview. However, you can't make an appointment when you are stuck in "additonal processing", but that's still no reason not to go ahead and get it out the way while waiting.
