Can a different field office be requested?

We've yet to marry or file AOS, but I'm starting to look into the details of what's to come. From what I understand so far, we'll need to travel at least twice to our USCIS field office, once for biometrics, and again for the GC interview. Trouble is, the two field offices that serve my state (WV) are around 8 and 4 hour drives away. Meanwhile, the state of VA, which I can literally see from my window, has a field office only an hour's drive away from me.

Not that I expect the government to be accomodating in any way, but has anyone been able to request their biometrics/interview be done at a different field office?

You will be assigned to the W.Va. station in Charleston for the interview. Biometrics may be closer to home. In our case, biometrics was in Charleston (less than 3 hours away) but interview was in Norfolk, eight hours away.

Thanks. I'm about as far from Charleston as you can get, and still be in the same state. I guess we'll have to set aside two to three days just for the interview.
