He said it was something he wanted to do "to be on the safe side". I am inclined to just let this go.

You know that if the doctor tells you to do something and you don't do it, he'll mark your records as being non-compliant.

Don't take it personally. They do it all the time in case you ever decide to sue them.

You know that if the doctor tells you to do something and you don't do it, he'll mark your records as being non-compliant.

I believe it. Except in this case, his own office seems unaware that he's asked me to do it.

I don't get that she's saying it wasn't in your chart. It sounds like she just looked at your insurance file which is usually kept separate from the actual medical record.

There may be a difference in how OR whether or not your insurance company pays for the procedure depending on where it is done. The secretary may be aware of this. The doctors often don't have a clue.

oh and if you do something "against medical advice" if something happens in the future you insurance may not pay for it. like he said get an mri and something happens that could have been prevented if you listened to him.
