Yo,

A group of London-based cricket fanatics, to include my husband's friend Dan, have launched a site called Test Match Sofa (testmatchsofa.com). It's basically a group of guys (in varying combinations depending on who's available) watching cricket matches on TV and providing live audio commentary & color commentary. Which, knowing Dan, is probably long-winded, insightful, funny, and absurd. I know that getting live cricket feeds in any medium is something of a project in the States, so this may be worth signing up for. I think their fee is something like 10 quid for the entire year. They're doing the Ashes now, their first series.

We bit the bullet and shelled out $90 for the Ashes on PPV.

Between the Tour and the cricket I am given no time to watch my bad reality shows

Which service do you have? (satellite?) I'm sure Jon would fork over $90 for the Ashes. I'm guessing Cox cable doesn't offer it. :(

And here they are in Dan's living room in London. He's the one who does most of the talking in this video (in navy shirt, then white shirt). I'm not sure I've met any of the other guys. I'll be surprised if they manage to get a word in.

*bump*

Guardian mention of Test Match Sofa in the last couple of paragraphs:

The Ashes 2005 and 2009: Where were you and where will you be?

The "mate" mentioned is Dan. It looks like the site is getting some traction.

Yes indeed! I was excited to see that.

I think one of the guys (not sure which one) was on BBC Radio London today. Apparently they're (The Sofa, that is) trying to get Lily Allen to join them as a "guest" commentator.

Hey, all

TestMatchSofa.com is offering the South Africa v. England commentary for free. Actually, I think they've given up on the whole subscription thing, so check 'em out!

Right now, they're discussing the World Cup draw.
