I came over on a k1 and so far the process is going smoothly... my question is 2 ppl i know have done this whole thing illegally. They met at a summer camp..got engaged after 3 weeks (!!) then he came bk the next year on a j1 to wrk at the summer camp again but they planned to get married a week after he got there. they planned a huge wedding ect.

he then has been wrking illegally (cash under the table) for the past yr b4 recievibg his EAD card. They have their interview today for the green card. Im just curious if the officer would find the fact that he came over on a j1 and got married a week into it with big weddibg ect so soon or if theyll just approve him.

We did everything the right way and, even tho its going smoothly, are STILL waiting for my green card. Its annoyin that ppl do it the illegal way and have NO clue about the immigration process only to get everything quickly and maybe get approved...

I wouldn't worry about the rest of the people. Our process went smoothly and we didn't think about people getting approved faster than us or slower than us. You can live your life worrying about others, or you can live your life grateful for what you have, and hope for the best outcome for your case. And if you're worried about people working illegally, what about all these politicians illegally getting money from lobbyists and in the end, we are the ones getting screwed? my thoughts to you is, if its gone smoothly so far, then continue thinking it will go smoothly, and you will be surprised with the end results. We didn't send our 693 form, and instead of worrying about an RFE, we figured, if it comes, we'll deal with it when it does. Of course, the RFE never came and we got approved without an interview. Good luck, and hopefully youll have a smooth journey like we did with our AOS.
