Tony and Hannalie

by: Cathy

Miracles can happen with a click of the internet

For, on a faith based website Hannalie and Tony met

They chatted and chatted and grew to know each other well

The more they learned the deeper in love they fell

He proposed on the web saying "please be my wife"

Hannalie said yes, you're the love of my life

The distance between them was oceans and miles

As Tony headed for the Philippines, she was all smiles

Her Papa didn't know why Tony had come to this land

For Hannalie hadn't told him Tony wanted her hand

Tony was nervous as he talked to her Mom and Dad

But a few hours later they accepted this smiling Christian lad

The wedding was held in Hannalie's home town

With her family and friends and cameras gathered round

Videos would be saved for Tony's family to see

So they too could share in the happiness and glee

With a strong faith in God and a blessing from Heaven

They wed and honeymooned in two thousand seven

Thirty days was the longest Tony could stay

He had to return for his job and a pay

Hannalie planned to join him just as soon as she could

But getting Passports and Visa's didn't go as they thought it would

The web-cam and internet was their communication way

As they viewed and spoke to each other everyday

They talked and waited as the months went slowly by

Missing each other so sometimes they would cry

Twenty two months was a long, long wait

But Hannalie's here now and everything is great

We're here tonight to celebrate and rejoice

Knowing Hannalie and Tony have made the right choice

We wish you many years of wedded bliss

And pray everyday for your total happiness

Hold your glasses knowing your life is now fine

Especially since you don't have to meet on line

Honor each other and the vows that you made

We toast to you, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Lee Hade

This poem was written by one of my mother-in-laws friend name Cathy and she gave this to us as her gift during our reception wedding here in the U.S last June 27,2009.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
