Congrats Mumtaz! I hope Haseeb is proud and Happy of his little boy. I hope you are recovering well. I believe my C-section will be scheduled for March 17th or so. But not sure if she will wait that long, she seems to be a bit impatient. Some stories we will have to tell our babies, huh? About their fathers' struggle with all this immigration. Well, good luck to you and your new little family. May Allah Bless you all.

Allah Hafiz.

p.s. good luck to all the rest of you who are waiting for good news as well. We are still right here waiting with you.

Faris Ali Gillani was born on Sunday, January 24th 2010 at 11:46am!!! The doctors decided to induce me when they saw that my placenta was looking too aged. All in all the first part of labor was kind of miserable cause it was taking so long and I wasn't dilating well, but it simply felt like menstrual cramps so the pain wasn't so bad. But it sped up out of nowhere going from 1cm to 9cm's in half an hour and exactly an hour afterwards my beautiful baby boy was born!!!

:D....g2g now though. Will be logging on next whenever I get a breathing moment to do so...lol.

p.s.

hshah08....I hope you don't mind taking on the responsibility for the list for a few weeks....? I will do my very best to get back on as much and update though...i promise. But I can't deny it might still be a while till I'm completely back though...sorry :(

Congratulations Mumtaz!! Insha'Allah may the baby be healthy and well.

As far as wellmux not researching it, if it wasn't mentioned in the first place it wouldn't have been researched. I don't think it has ever happened that a Muslim female explains the details to the public, let alone their father. The only male that is allowed to know is her husband.

Secondly, this is an immigration forum in which we write down the details of our immigration process (interview, paperwork for every step, etc..) or updates on the immigration process, not our private lives. It is a private matter, not a public matter.

Mumtaz is a bright woman, she knows the traditions of the month of Muharram as far as respect goes, same goes for the respect in private matters... she was probably so excited to share the news that the baby was born, but just didn't realize the details should be kept private lol

Anyhow, Mumtaz may the baby always be in a healthy condition and insha'Allah you will be a great mother :)

Hey Salam everyone,

I hope things are going well for everyone here. I've been trying to keep myself busy and get my mind off of the whole AP issue so have not been logging on much. My husband received a call on Jan 14th regarding his phone numbers for the past 5 years- we emailed them to PAKIVQUERY@STATE.GOV and referenced our case number in the subject line. However, its been 11 days and Islamabad still has not entered the email into their database as per the operators from the Department of State (DOS). Has anyone else experienced such a lag in the process of e-mails? Any idea on the average amount of days it takes them to process the email?

Well, I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but when I call DOS they say case is still pending AP and I said well they emailed my fiance saying to submit his passport for visa issuance and the lady said oh they didn't put that update in the system yet. (at that time it had been 13 days I think and DOS said the same thing)

Maybe they didn't update it, maybe they did and the operator didn't check the right window. Mary told me that there are a few windows when they put in the case number.

Don't overwhelm yourself, just keep in touch with the embassy because they will have the most up to date information when it comes to the AP for embassy level.

I specifically asked DOS one time why some people get called for their visa and the DOS still tells us "Still pending". She, Anna, said "Uh.. well, I think in very rare cases this may happen, but we update our systems daily.". She also said it is very rare that someone be told at their interview that they are approved and then go through lots of AP just to be denied... Poor KhalidnFatima, guess they are one of those rare cases??? Anyhow... I asked them the other day if there were any updates in their system for our case and she said "As of Jan 12, when your husband called to update his phone number info, it was still pending". So, she said that they updated his contact info the day he called. But, my husband called them today and said "We email you constantly, and no one ever replies.. why is that?" and the guy said "Because you also call all the time, so we tell you what you need to hear over the phone then delete your email.". Guess that makes sense. Anyhow.. I would call the embassy and ask them about the email in the system. That would be the best thing. Can't DOS update your info?

Just a question to ask:

If all goes well I will be applying for naturalization, hope to get it by March or April next year.Should I wait in US or should I travel to Pakistan immediately after getting the passport and help my wife process her application in Pakistan?

I have great news everyone! I called DOS today and they told me visa was issued on January 27 and the passport was sent to the embassy in kabul... but they also said that there is no diplomatic pouch going from Islamabad to Kabul, AFghanistan (I guess because of the bombings and extreme talibans guarding the roads) so Islamabad is sending it to washington and from washington they send it to kabul via diplomatic pouch (i'm not sure if this is true or not)... that is my update for today

Feisal... you should be getting your passport soon as well insha'Allah

Hopeful786 many many congratulations to u and i think that visa is in the way now , ur husband will receive his visa in february ,

but they also said that there is no diplomatic pouch going from Islamabad to Kabul, AFghanistan (I guess because of the bombings and extreme talibans guarding the roads) so Islamabad is sending it to washington and from washington they send it to kabul via diplomatic pouch

U should have had asked them that it was better that islamabad send the visa to ur home instead of sending washington this way it would be faster so u can send him passport by urself lol.

to matter of calling dos and asking them if theres any update on the case is not good as i have noted that forexample i sent embassy an email and they replied me on 25 january and today if i will call DOS and ask them about the last update they will say oh last update was on 25 january and that is the date when embassy sent me email and it does not work fine.

Ghayder when they update some information in their system they send u a reply , send them email and ask them if they have received the informations u sent them and they will reply u.

VJ Friends,

no u can not go embassy on ur own car everyone have to use shuttle service to reach at the gate of embassy , theres a shuttle service they charge u per person 2 way ticket and they take u to embassy and when ur done with interview they take u back on same ticket, and then from there u can take taxi or sit back in ur car and go home.
