You could be right abenitez but i think they determine if ur relationship is a sham or not during the interview. If you browse other portals you can see there are many bi-racial couples and their cases are being processed accordingly. But hey you never know.......Good Luck and IA we will be out of this AP very soon.

Got my interview date yesterday by email.........October 16 at 8:00am, although I will be calling the embassy to see if they will reschedule me any sooner...what with the delivery being so close by and having to travel by plane and whatnot..... have a few questions for you guys though...by what time do you guys think Haseeb and I should go to the embassy in ISL? This is the very first time either of us will be traveling to the islamabad embassy (I know that's sorta sad, even though I'm a usc I usually get my dad to deal with them though..lol). Any tips on where we should go, when to get their and how to get wherever(like whats-up with the bus that takes you to the embassy???? I don't get it)....completely clueless here so any suggestions......would be great! :D

Step by step instructions totally welcome....hehehe ;)

Yeah I guess they do look at such cases in a bit detail.Inspite of all the modernization pak has got now ,biracial relationships r still not that common.I suggest u prepare a list of questions n keep an answer in mind. They might interview u shortly too alonith ur hubby. But dont worry as u have a genuine relation, had visited him often, just make sure u have enough proof .As u have mentioned u will be going for his interview,i think that is a big plus too.My hubby and many other members just had like a 3 min interview and were not asked for any docs probably bcoz their spouse's were there.I think AP for all applicants has considerably approved so just keep praying n hope for the best.

ok this is how it goes..

DSS (Shuttle Service) is located on the 3rd ave on your way to quaid-e azam university.. if you are staying overnight in Islamabad and will be calling cab, all you have to ask for is Shuttle Service for US embassy but if you are driving there then I don't know what to say because most of the roads are occasionnaly blocked and I guess they keep switching the blocked locations so your best bet would be to ask the police officers (we did and they were very helpful)

At the DSS, you need to show your passports and the interview letter and get a ticket for Rs. 200 each, make sure you have your files n folders either in clear bag or holding them in hands because no briefcases, etc. are allowed.. you will have to deposit your cell phone at the far left corner counter and then stand in a line for the shuttle.. will go through one security check before you get on the bus...it takes about 30 mins to reach teh US embassy.. once you are at the embassy, there are two lines for immigrant and non immigrant visas.. get into immigrant visa line.. then there is another security check right inside the embassy, thats where you will be separated from your husband because he would go for the finger printing while you will have to wait in the waiting area either inside or outside depending on where they tell you to wait!!! (usually they send the USC inside but I guess it varies) Then just hang in there until he comes back from finger printing and then both of you can wait for his name to be called.. tadaaa!!!

good luck on your interview :-)

Thank you so much w4a for clearing that up for us!!!! That's really nice of you :D. I cut and pasted everything you said into wordpad and it's saved for good now.lol. I know Haseeb and I are definitely going to be needing your advice......okay well maybe not Haseeb so much...seeing as he will most probably find his way around by asking the police officers...and he's been to isl a few times before, and is good with finding his way in the craziest of places anyways.....but since I'm EXACTLY (oh and I MEAN IT!) the opposite......your advice is pure gold for me! ^_^.....again....thanks a bunch!!!

Hello all, my parents had IR5 interview on Aug 28th. My mom got visa on spot whereas my dad was put on AP :(

I see FEISAL that you got AP as well and your interview was week before my parents. Is there any word on it?

I'm not sure whether to just fly my mom here or wait for my dad to get through the AP as well:) any idea how long the wait is going to be...

Good luck!

I called DOS couple of days ago - the lady was really nice... she told me that none of the documents get to come back to washington...the consular officer is the one who is incharge of ur case and if he will need any info from the agencies in USA, it will be provided to him. Also, she said it will take WEEKS n i kept on asking abt how many months n she kept on saying it will be WEEKS lol!

Im goin to give 'em a call in a week or so again n we'll see wat they say on it.... neways for now i've got myself a ticket to karachi today for EID!!!! :)

My parents also had their interview, the same date as Feisal, Aug 21st, same story, my dad was put on AP, but they told my mom that she should wait for my dad. so she didnt take the visa. My dad is 69 yrs old, i don know wat security check they will run on him. But, it seems to be getting better now, alot of peopel are getting out of their AP within a month. Also they have posted on the USCIS website that they will reslove 98% of the Aps within 30 days. My mother would not have travelled without my father any ways, so we are all just waiting. Good luck.

Hi again everyone! Long time no talk :) and my fiance is still in AP (calling DOS every other day) Uffffff! I had a question about flying to the US for him since we are starting to look at itineraries (it's almost been 2 months of AP now)..

We found a really cheap ticket that would fly him from Dubai through Hong Kong to LAX (I live in Los Angeles) and it would be awesome! But we are wondering if he will need to get a Chinese Visa to just go through the airport there? Also, the same with Dubai, would he need a Dubai visa just to fly through the airport?

He is Afghan, not Pakistani.. don't know if it makes a difference??? Thanks so much for any help! Good luck to everyone! Glad to see so many people getting out of AP quickly!! Pray for us also! :)

ZEE12 - Name check is part of AP , but surely not the only process in AP - In AP Interpol check is also done to see if u have criminal record anywhere else in the world and if you are hiding any travels to country of 6 months or more. Local investigation in pakistan for Military record, Criminal and terroist check is also done including document checking - hence it takes time to complete.
