We are in the process of trying to lift conditions on my husband's permanent U.S. residence. I'm putting together additional proof in response to an RFE we just got last night.

One thing I didn't do in the original packet was affidavits, so I thought I'd throw that in. The main emphasis of the RFE was to provide evidence of communal residence, so I thought since we have lots of parties it would help to have our friends write about that.

So my question is: Have any of the people who provided affidavits for your applications been contacted? If so, what have they been asked? And do they just get called, or do they get asked to go in to a service center and interview in person? I just want to be able to tell my friends what they might be in for; hate to impose on them without knowing how much of a time commitment or hassle it's going to be.

thanks!

Hi Team Baby,

Affidavits are now one of the documents for I-751 which USCIS looks for according to I-751. As far my knowledge and observation goes, I haven't read any scenario where affidavit providers for RFE and non-RFE cases were called/ or were to go to USCIS field office.

I think if your friends and family member do provide affidavits, it's better to let me know that it's unlikely they will be contacted by USCIS but just in case they should be prepared in any case as you never know with USCIS.

So if USCIS does want to contact them they might call them or send correspondence for further action which is again very unlikely to happen as I have never read or seen it here on VJ or other forums. So it's good to be prepared.

Good Luck.
