Infopass Appointment for Missppelled Name on EAD

My wife had an infopass appointment to correct the misspelling of her name on her EAD card. The immigration officer asked us to fill out a new I-765. (We already had one that was filled out and he was quite impressed. I would like to thank the VJ poster Minfay for telling us to do this ahead of time. :thumbs: ) The IO took the form from us and wrote typographical error in the box on the top right. He said they would file that for us and no additional fee was required. Then he gave us an appointment to return next Friday to receive a temp EAD card.

The only downside is that the office is a 100 mile drive from where we live, and now we have to make a second trip, which requires me to take another day off work.
