I was speaking with USCIS and asked them about notices, they said we will get a notice that our application has been received (I guess that's the NOA1) but nothing else until notified by Embassy for interview. Is that the NOA2? We are a little confused about what notices we will be receiving.

NOA2 is a confirmation from USCIS that your petition is approved then your petition will be transfer to the NVC :)

I'm the wife of an American Soldier;

I'm the hope that lives within him after storm clouded days.

The freedom from war that gives wings to his heart,

May they reach across the miles and bind our hearts together

against all that we must face in this world.

Do not worry, you will receive notifications from USCIC especially if they require additional information/documents called RFE.

You should received NOA1 within few weeks of filing I129f, then you may not receive anything for few months while the application sit somewhere in the queue before it get processed.

After receiving NOA1, there is a web site, a USISC web site where you can register the NOA1 (petition number) and receive e-mail updates when the petition is touched. I don't remember the link but I will add it later to this post.

When you receive the approval notice (NOA2) that is the time when the application is forwarded to the Manila Embassy and will be received by Embassy in usually 2 weeks.

and most of all

CONGRATZ,

my fiance is from the same area too...

Here we go.....

after receiving NOA1 notification or as soon the check is cashed...

check in the back of the check and will have some kind of EAC #########

Then you can create yourself an account here and will receive e-mail notification too...during the process

Time between the NOA1 and NOA2 will be long, several months. Mine took 5 months and 2 days and I never received any RFE's which make the process longer. The USCIS we site gives status on processing I-129F's but it is not as up to date or as accurate as the timeline checks here on VJ.

Where in Mindanao is your fiancee from? My wife was from Ozamiz City.

Good luck and if I can be of any further help or answer any questions during your journey please ask.
