K2 question & change of address

I filed the K1/K2 visa application in December and received the NOA1 on 12/12/05. My fiancée and her 11-yo son are listed. Is it preferable for her son to have his own Ukraine passport or is it better to have him listed in her Ukraine passport? Is the child required to have a medical exam with the mother?

On another topic: When I filed the application in December, I lived in Texas. I now live in California, but until my house in Texas sells, I can still claim Texas residency. I have not officially changed my address so I have some flexibility as to when I become a California resident. When is the best point in the visa process to submit a change of address? I’m worried that there may be a point in the process where a change of address will disrupt everything. Thanks.
