I read somewhere here in Philippine law that I dont need any permission letter from my child's biological father to bring him with me,is this true?

The court gave me sole custody of him.

Do you mean that, when you said (the court gave you sole custody of your son)means your'e a single mom?, is he illegitimate? that his natural father did not sign at the back of the boy's birth certificate acknowledging that he is the father of that boy? and that he does not lend the use of his surname to his son?

Then you have nothing to worry about. Because the right to exercise parental authority to an illegitimate child belongs to the mother who shall lend her surname to the said boy. RA 9255 which allows the child to use the surname of his natural father applies only to a situation when the father openly acknowledges filiation to an illegitimate child. Thus, a stranger cannot exercise parental authority over any child much less is required to give consent to any child whom he does not recognize, even though he may be giving financial assistance. For giving money or financial assistance does not prove nor establishes relationship, much less grants any right. God bless..
