Adjust Messenger Settings to Archive Chats

1. Go to Yahoo's home page and click on 'Messenger' or sign in to Yahoo Messenger in the usual fashion (see Resources below).

2.Click 'Messages' in the Messenger window and choose 'Preferences' from the list of options.

3. Select 'Archive.' Choose the 'Save all of my messages' option. You can choose to go ahead and view recent messages sent and received at this time if you'd like.

4. Choose 'Save my call history' from the same menu if Yahoo's voice chat tool is being used through Yahoo Messenger.

5. Click 'OK.' All of your Yahoo Instant Messenger conversations will now be archived for later review.

Save Archived Yahoo Chats to Your Computer

1. Select the 'Contacts' link in the Yahoo Messenger window then click 'Message Archive' from the list of options.

2. Click on the 'Messages' folder to recall archived chats exchanged via Yahoo Messenger.

3 Retrieve specific chats and save them to your personal computer by selecting the desired exchange and clicking on 'Message' in the Message Archive window then clicking on 'Save As.' You can create a folder on your computer to save specific chats and save the messages you recover there.

What I did was bring up the archive list as mentioned by pretty angel. Once you have selected your fiance/asawa yahoo ID:

1: resize archive box as long as you can make it.

2: copy list of chat dates by pressing alt + printscreen

3: open MS Paint and paste copied list from clipboard.

4: Save or print MS Paint. If you have photo editor software you can crop the picture down in size.

5: scroll down and repeat steps 2 through 4 until all archived chats are shown.

print a page of a few selected chats.

this shows how often you chatted without copying all chat sesions.

Of course, if you did not archive the chats then this method is of nlittle use.
