I noticed that some peoples timelines are noticably quicker than others. I did notice some were k3 and others were not. Everybodies I look at with the K1 that has been submitted in 2009 is going pretty quick. I sent my I-129F in march 2009 it shows on the site that last updated was April/02/2009 and they recieved my packet on the 30th of March 2009. So the Reciept i got is my NOA1 correct? (sorry some of the terms are confusing me) Who should get the NOA2 me or my fiance? Also what is the NOA2 and how long should it normally take to get? and lastly reading some of the post correct me if im wrong but once i get my NOA2 it should take about two weeks to get to the NVC then maybe another 2 weeks to get to the Manila Embassy? Then about another month or so for medical and inteview ...ect.. before she gets her visa in hand?

I am trying to plan a time line for us because id like to go to the Embassy with her since im here in country but if it takes too long I wont be here ill have to go back to the states.

Also if she gets her visa in August, she has 6 months to get to the states and get married correct? Can that extended before it runs out? The reason I ask is this:

I may get extended here until march/april 2010 ( this just come into question recently ) when i was only suppose to stay here until August/September this year. How to work this issue concerns me any suggestions will help thanks a bunch everyone.

yes i noticed that too..been wondering why...but im happy for them

I am not sure about the receipt but normally the USCIS will send you the NOA1, an acknowledgment that they received your application. Its in that paper too the case number which you can use to track the status of your application through their website.

(sorry some of the terms are confusing me) Who should get the NOA2 me or my fiance?

You

Also what is the NOA2 and how long should it normally take to get?

NOA2, paper from USCIS stating that your application was approved. Before it takes 3-4 months

and lastly reading some of the post correct me if im wrong but once i get my NOA2 it should take about two weeks to get to the NVC then maybe another 2 weeks to get to the Manila Embassy?

Case to case, ours a week for NVC and a week for Manila to received the case. Maybe yours is earlier.

Then about another month or so for medical and inteview ...ect.. before she gets her visa in hand?

Your fiance can go for her medical as soon as you have the NOA1.Once NVC approves your application, ask them for your Manila Case Number. Once you have that, you can call the USEM for interview appointment. She will then have her visa days after the interview. It took a week from my interview date to have my VIsa delivered.

Also if she gets her visa in August, she has 6 months to get to the states and get married correct?

Correct and you need to be married within 90 days from the day she arrives there.

Can that extended before it runs out?

Yes but you have to inform USEM.

Don't worry, like you have said majority 2009 filers have quicker replies...yours too.

Goodluck and God Bless.

Thanks for all the replies. I really hope she gets her interview before i leave, but id she doesnt she doesnt i cant change that. Ill just sit and wait until I get the NOA2 its just frustrating because that little last updated date "touched" it has yet to change. It kinda worries me but is probably normal.

Anyway thanks to all that replied.

NOA1 is the first receipt you'll get stating that they got your petition.

NOA2 is the approval from USCIS. Things have gone relatively slower lately for family based visa. Don't expect this to come real fast nowadays. Give it two months at least.

NVC case number, around 2-3 weeks to get. Some gets lucky and receives it a few days after their NOA2.

Then it arrives in Manila.... do medicals, interview.. etc.

Give or take 6-8 months if you are lucky.

Visa will expire after 6 months if she doesn't enter the US. Once she enters the US, you have 90 days to get married or she comes home to Philippines.
