4 to 6 weeks?

This is the message I got from the NVC when asking whether the AOS fee was processed:

"NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support processing fee for this case. The Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) package has been sent to the petitioner the week of June 26, 2006. Please allow two to four weeks for this to be received."

Does anyone have an idea why they allow for such a ridiculous amount of time? Is that mail making a trip around the world before getting to my husband?

Same as your IV Bill. Standard reply and do the same thing as I suggested on your another post regarding IV bill.

ariest,

Two ideas.

- They have no control over how long the mail is going to take, and whether or not it will go around the world, and so are going to make a conservative rather than an aggressive estimate.

- They hope to minimize questioning by impatient people that takes up their limited resources.
