Hi there - I need some info on a couple of things. We are getting married in September (yeah!!) in Washington state. When we apply for the license do I put down my Social Insurance number since I do not hold a Social Security number? Also - from what I have read I should not tell them at POE that I am getting married when I go down so I won't. Our plan is for him to immigrate to Canada when his work is complete in a few years - I go to see him in Washington every weekend or so - now my question - Can I get in trouble for crossing the border so frequently?? I was told by a friend that I can only spend 6 months in the USA. That is fine - I only go down for 2 or 3 days at a time - do those 2 or 3 days count as weeks?? I have no intention to stay in the US longer than a few days (except for honeymoon) as I hold a full time job and my kids are in school in Canada.

Your help is appreciated,

Debby

nope. just leave it blank.

You should be fine as long as you have no intent to immigrate to the USA without filling the proper paperwork. The6 month rule is a good one to go by.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard
