What should we expect at Infopass appointment?

I submitted a petition for AOS for my wife (K1 Visa) and her son (K2 Visa) at the same time. The petitions were mailed in the same envelope and were received by the Chicago office. Later the petitions were transferred to the CSC. About 1 month ago my wife received her GC without having an interview, but we have heard nothing about her son's petition. Last Friday we called to place a service request since it has been more than 6 mo since submitting the petitions. Today we received the following email:

"After careful review of your request, it has been determined that your issues will be best addressed by the local USCIS Office having jurisdiction over your case. Please make an appointment at that USCIS Office by visiting USCIS website www.uscis.gov, click on Schedule an Appointment. If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283."

I have made the appointment for this Friday, but I have no idea what "issues" must be addressed at this appointment. Since I don't know what the issues are, I don't know how to prepare for this appointment or what documents to bring with me. It is about a 3 hour drive to Chicago so I hope that this will be a productive appointment. Has anyone had a similar experience? Do you have any suggestions?
