Be marriage partners, not sparring partners...

This is especially for married couples.

Remember the wonderful days of love

during courtship and soon after marriage.

How happy these days were,

full of attention and love for one another ?

And then came a first quarrel,

probably about little nothings,

and then another and another.

And sometimes it looked

as if the two partners in marriage

had become sparring and shouting partners

in a boxing bout.

Of course, once in a while

people get on each others nerves,

because even in marriage

the partners remain

two different individuals

each with his or her own character,

tastes,opinions and ideas , moods.

Love must enable each one

to respect the other

in his or her own individuality

and to overcome differences.

Happy are those,

like a couple I know,

who had resolved to settle these differences,

each night before going to bed

and try to stick to that resolution.

Married couples......

are made to be ONE-

one heart, one mind, one family,

united in the same love.
