My husband had his first interview on April 2nd, at which time they kept our correspondence and photos. The consulate did not get back to him until April 21st. They asked him to return for a second interview. I flew there to be with him and to go to his second interview which was on April 27th. They also interviewed me at this time. After the interview, she said that we could go and that they would contact us at a later time. My husband asked if they were refusing us at this time, she said no. He asked if she could tell us when they would contact us and she said no. The only thing she would say was that we were still under review. We are STILL waiting for them to contact us with an answer 15 days later. Can anyone help us and let us know if they have any experience with this sort of thing and what we might expect? As you can understand, we are "on the edge of our seats" awaiting our verdict.

I don't have experience with this perticular situation. However, I would contact my Senator ASAP.

What kind of question did they asked you? I heard that they normally don't allow the foreign spouse to attend. Did he have to go across the street at the cafe to come and get you or did they request for you to be in the interview when they scheduled your husbands second interview?

No, they would not let me enter with him at first. He told her that I had made a special trip to be there for his interview and was waiting outside. She interviewed him and then asked him to bring me in as well. She asked me the basic questions that she had asked him before about our relationship.

INSHALLAH you will get your visa. I believe all will be ok. Make sure you email your Senator.

Sounds like basic Administrative review or administrative processing. I would email the consul(or call if they prefer that) and give them your case # and ask if you are in administratve processing. If it is review(A/R), that can be faster, if its processing(A/P)..there is no timeline. At least you will know whats going on if you email them.

Hopefully you hear very soon and its just a final review of the case. :)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
