getting a visitors visa

Hello I'm not sure I'm posting in the correct area, but I have a quick question...... I am dating a guy from Jamaica and have been there 6 times since December and now I want him to come see me. How likely is it that he will be granted a visa if he applies? He also has a sister here in the military that says she will take full responsibility for him and all expenses. She believes that his chances are better if she writes the invitation instead of me. What do you all think we should do?

All of its worth a try, the most you will lose is the $138.00 for applying if he is not granted a visitor visa. The odds are against him, but you never know it might be the day the angels smile down upon him.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the approvals vs denials on visitors visas lately. I hear of people who have homes, bank accounts and family in JA getting denied and then someone who has none of the above...getting approved. Its a ####### shoot. If you have the $ and you feel like gambling....go right ahead. GOOD LUCK

it depends on various factors

they are very unpredictable

he pretty much has to prove he has significant ties to jamaica so he won't run away - children in jamaica, ownership of property, money in the bank, a good job, etc.

if u have already started filing for the k1 that will not be good for him, they tend to turn down ppl who already have petitions filed for them
