i would still call & ask the consulate that services your state & ask them. these consulates all seem to have different requirements.

LOL, I swear the consulate at DC just flat out does NOT answer the phone.

I was thinking of paying in cash. This is what is written in the renewal instructions...

Passport processing fees are non-refundable and payable only in

cash when personally applying; or money order issued in the

U.S., certified, treasurer’s, manager’s or cashier’s check issued

by a bank in the U.S. or by local bank that has a corresponding

bank in the U.S., payable to the Embassy of the Philippines when

applying by mail or courier. Personal check and personal money

order are not accepted.

Maybe that's just DC.

 see they're all different. keep trying to call, thats about all you can do.

So do they go over everything with you and make sure it's in order, or do they just cram everything in an envelope and hope for the best?

i dunno yet. ask me again in a few weeks.

Is this for renew passport only or at the same time can amend the married name?

Thanks..

I renewed my passport and at the same time change it to my married name at LA Consulate and the fee is $50 plus $6 mailing fee for the new & old passport if you do not want to go back there and pick it up by yourself. They are going to require a photocopy of the NSO Marriage Certificate if you were married in the Philippines. I do not know about the requirements for marriages here in the US though.

please call the embassy/consulate that serves your state for detailed requirements & instructions. there are too many differences between consulates to rely on what someone posts on a message board.

agree! :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Quick question on passport photo size.

Does it really have to be exactly 1.77x1.37?

Everywhere around me only has the size 2x2. Please someone answer soon. Today is the best time for me to get this done, and I leave for the embassy in a week.

Thanks

Yes.thats the size for the Philippine passport pic.

I was only able to get passport photos that are 2x2 inches. My question is will this be a problem? No place where I live will make a photo 1.77x1.37 inches (4.5x3.5 cm).

Also, no one had a blue backdrop. I ended up having to buy some blue fabric and talking a place that does passport photos into letting me put it up. Some refused.

I read somewhere on here that it would be ok, but I guess I wanted a second opinion.
