Hello there! for me it takes 4 days i received my K-1 Visa after my interview. kung walang problema during USembassy interview pwede ka na magpabooked ng ticket at least 2 weeks from your interview date para cgurado madawat mo na ang Visa. Ok lang one way ticket ang bilhin mo. About CFO kailangan mo talaga mag attend nang seminar na yan kay di kaw gayud makalarga kon waya imo CFO sticker...pwede sa St. Mary's sa Cebu rakan kaw magkuha kay ako didto man ko nag attend. Anyway you can add me to your yahoo so that we can chat sheila_siega66@yahoo.com

*** usually in provinces, 10 working days

2. do I need to buy a roundtrip ticket or is one-way (going to the states) okay?

***you only need 1way ticket

3. can you apply for a SSN already and work when you get in the states or do you have to get married first before everything else?

***in my case, I applied on my 3rd day in US, but it took 1month before I got the SS number and mailed to me

4. what is CFO seminar? i have no idea about that.. kailangan ba yan sa K1 visa or sa immigrant visas lng?

***counseling of all the filipinos that will go abroad, and they will give you stamp in your passport where your immigrant number appears on it...that's necessary, you can't go out without attending the CFO seminar and CFO stamp in your passpot.

thank you for all your help and prayers! :)

Good luck!!! Happy reunion!!!

hi! i'm just wondering about some things since i just got recently approved..

1. how long does it usually take for the visa to be mailed? i live in davao and I got approved just last April 29... Depends on where you lived. Or if your house can be easily located. Some says it takes within a week for those who live in Manila or more for other regions.

2. do I need to buy a roundtrip ticket or is one-way (going to the states) okay? After receiving my visa, air fares weren't that affordable. One-way tickets seems to be more expensive than roundtrip, so my hubby purchased roundtrip tickets for me instead of one-way. You may purchase whatever suits your budget.

3. can you apply for a SSN already and work when you get in the states or do you have to get married first before everything else? You may apply for a SSN 2 weeks after US arrival. Though when you apply for SSN, the number would be in your maiden name. You may change it when you get your green card. About working, you may only do so once you get your working permit or the EAD card. This can be done after marriage and applying for adjustment of status.

4. what is CFO seminar? i have no idea about that.. kailangan ba yan sa K1 visa or sa immigrant visas lng? CFO seminar is a pre-departure seminar for all intending immigrants to the US. It is important to attend the seminar and have your CFO sticker stamped in your passport. You cannot leave PI without the CFO sticker.

Have a safe trip, sis!

thank you for all your help and prayers! :)

We picked up my visa in person and it only took 3 days. You really have to be in the CFO seminar and get your stamp, you can't leave the country without it. My husband and I left the country together. Good luck for everything!
