Maybe I read that wrong but if your house is worth what you owe and what you paid for it, then you're effectively taking a loss on it were you to sell today. Thus my ":(".

you're taking a loss on a house anyways as soon as you buy it. realtor fees, insurance, and interest. i've knocked about 25k off the note in 6 years, so i'm happy with what i owe on it as i know if something happened to me, nessa could unload it fairly quickly if she wanted to. i'm not upside down on it, that's for sure.
