the US govt spent millions (ive heard) just to save the captain. wala tayong ganun kalaking pera... plus navy seals are the most well trained fighter "daw" so wala din tayong ganun sa pinas... tsaka even the US said its easier to save the captain while on sea coz the moment madala nila ito on land, its gona be hard for them to do the search and rescue esp the kind of govt they have on somali... its not only filipinos who are still in their captivity, ive heard merong russian, chinese at ibang bansa... kaso nga lng ang daming pinoy... its a sad sad situation but i wish they can come up w/ a solution (UN)

Yesterday, the MV Irene, a Greek-owned freighter, was seized by the Somalis in the Gulf of Aden. There are 20 Filipinos who are crew members of the Irene.

Sad to say, but the Philippine government lacks the logistics to carry on a rescue mission. This is an issue that the United Nations must tackle.

If we cannot protect ourselves, who is going to protect us?

Joint forces kumbaga. Americans got the money. We got the fighters dahil wala din magawa ang mga ambassadors at mga politiko.

It's should be nice if the United States and the Philippines can join forces to liberate the Filipino hostages. But, I don't fancy the Americans extending any help to the Philippines, not after they were kicked out of Subic Bay and Clark Field. And besides, the USA has some of its own citizens as hostages to be taken cared of. To each it's own!
