Hi All VJer's.

I have my DS 230 here and I have a few questions that maybe some of you can help.

OK lets go.....

Q.16. My father left my mother 20 years ago, disappeared in his truck (yeah a sad day :crying: ). I do not know his address, what do I put in the box that says CURRENT ADDRESS?? I do know the town he lives but that is all.

Q21a. If my wife is already in US what do I put?? N/A I assume??

Q22. I was unemployed for a year or so do. Do I leave a gap in my employment record or make a note on the form??

Q23. Do they really want all education?? From my infant school at the age of 5 till a part-time day release college course from work aged 21ish?

Thanks guys,

and godsavethequeen ....... ;¬)

question 16 i would put unknown

question 21 would be NONE

question 22 it just says list employment so i would just list employment and not worry about gaps.

Question 23 i think they are mainly concerned with education that gave you any qualifications. I think i just put my secondary school and college.

Hope this helps but remember i am not an expert.

godsavethequeen,

Q.16 Enter as much as you know, if you know nothing at all enter 'unknown'.

Q.21a Your wife would not be accompanying you even if she was not already in the USA. She is a USC, is she not, and so is not applying for a US immigrant visa either now or later?

Q.22 I would enter 'unemployed' so as to have a complete timeline and not invite a question as to why there is a time gap.

Q.23 Different consulates may have different ideas about this question. Often giving high school (secondary school) onward is sufficient.

yabasta,

One doesn't get to the point of submitting a DS-230 without having an A#. It can often be found on the petition approval notice. If not, 'unknown' is more accurate but 'none' will do.

The NVC and consulate will know what the A# is - they have the case file.

Hi,

I saw your question on the DHS A number and since I am struggling with the same question, wanted to see if you found what it means. I am filling the DS-230 Part 1 form and the yask for the DHS A number for the previous visits (they visited 3 times). I have the passport and the visa with me but I just dont know what is the A number on that. They are a lot of numbers and not sure which one it is!!

If you have any idea, would really appreciate a reply.

Thanks

You will not find an A number on a visitors visa. An alien registration number is issued for anyone that has dealings with USCIS before with immigration or on a J visa eg.

You would of been assigned an alien registration number already for this process with the initial I-130 petition but they dont always include in on the NOA's. Mine wasnt.

I dont have easy access right now to the DS-230 form but if you have not had an A number for any previous entries to the US (that is immigrant or J visa) your answer would be 'none'
