Finalizing I-130

I am completing I-130s for both my parents. I am so used to thinking as a LPR and not a citizen and it has been so long since I filled in initial applications so I just had a couple of questions to ask:

1) If my relatives live in England is the current acceptable country England or United Kingdom?

2) As a naturalized petitioner, do I put my old Alien Reg Number in box 10 or put NONE?

3) My parents already have a vacation booked to come and visit in June. If I file this week and they enter on the visa waiver program is there a likelihood that they will be denied entry because of the pending I-130 application? They can obviously show continued ties, residency etc. to England.

Thanks!

1. United Kingdom

2. No need for old A#

3. My wifes parents flew home to Heathrow on Saturday. They had no problems at immigration and they have an approved I-130, we are just waiting for NVC to issue the case numbers so we can send the next lot of forms.

Get your parents to bring all the original doc you are going to need for the NVC stage it will save time having to wait for them in the mail.

Thanks, TayRivers! I am still confused by the process: what forms are needed for NVC that are not sent as part of initial application? They will be bringing both their birth certificates. Their marriage certificate will be included with the intial app in order to show that my dad was married to my mum at my birth. Anything else?

Am still in the process of preparing docs to file for I-130 for my parents as well.

I never included the old A# on any of the forms as I was told at the local USCIS office that Citizens do not need to include old A# as you have to send a copy of the Certificate with the I-130.

You DO NOT send the originals with the I-130 only copies. The Originals are needed for the DS230 that is sent to the NVC. Have a read of the guide for IR1 visa it is the same process for a IR5 visa (Parents)

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...page=i130guide1

Also read the shortcuts for NVC as this will save you a lot of time.

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut

Also NVC are changing over to email for all notices and instructions so make sure your parents have a email addy even if you set it up on your own email account.

Hope this helps

Wow... this is going to be fun. Reading the NVC ShortCut guide it says:

"NOTE2: Police Certificate is required for any places which beneficiary has lived longer than twelve (12) months in any other country other than country of citizenship, after age of 16"

Dad is 80. He was conscripted into the army at the end of WW2 and then upon release worked for a firm where he travelled the world inspecting branches of his multi-national employer. He would stay around 18 months in one country and then be relocated to another branch. He probably has between 12 and 15 countries in which he resided over 12 months. We seriously have to contact every one for a police certificate? Knowing dad I am sure he doesn't have a clue on half of them any more. If I ask him when he was in some African country the reply is something like "early fifties... maybe, not sure". I don't think he stands a chance of coming up with months and years of all these residencies.

He has been retired and living in the UK since 1987. But they still want stuff from 22 years before that?
