So, we got approved earlier last week. I haven't called NVC haven't received packet 3 but have looked at the link for it.

The question is if I complete the DS-156 - DS-160's now prior to the consulate receiving our petition will it make a difference? Will they get angry? lol

I-751 file: 11/07/11

NOA1 date: 11/10/11

Biometrics: 11/30/11

Approval: 08/17/12

Hold what you got and maintain.

I don't think the Vancouver Consulate requires the DS160 - you may want to wait to be sure about that.

You should be fine filling out the DS 156 early, but just don't date it yet, I would sign and date it closer to the interview date.

I agree, It would be cool to fill out the DS 156 now but post date it, or wait to sign and date it until you know the interview date. As far as the 160 goes, i'd wait until you get the packet, or you at least know the consulate has received your case. Otherwise, you'll fill it out and it'll come up in their computer and they'll wonder who the heck you are  (or not...)

I don't think they would, the Packet 3 checklist is on the Vancouver consulate website to download, and I guess Vancouver is using the DS-156 instead of the 160. I am still waiting for my Packet 3 letter from Vancouver, which recently I hear just says to go to the website and download Packet 3.

Yup. DS-230 (Part I), DS-156 and DS-156K and are the big three form requirements outlined in the Packet 3 from Vancouver Consulate. The first (230, P I) you are supposed to fax back with the completed checklist you are instructed to download from the website in the letter that comes. There's not much to it really and I seriously doubt if there'd be any issues with it being filled out this close to when the consulate gets it from NVC. Vancouver doesn't want the DS-160 at this time. Good luck!

Yeah beans look at the new checklist on the Vancouver website. You can fill out the forms in advance DS-230, DS-156, and DS-156K. Just don't send any of them in. :D Also I am going to fill out the affidavit of support even though it isn't on the checklist anymore. Just in case. My guess it won't hurt if my GF has the information handy and they don't ask her for it. Murphy's law, if she doesn't have it, they will want it.
