Hello all,

I have been living with my Fiance in Hanoi for about one month now; I would like to make everything as legit as possible. I should register with the local police in Hanoi that I am living with her, right?

We are staying together in a small house that is rented every month... Does her landlord need to get involved or do we simply (us two) go to the local police and register that I am living with her?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Landlord should get your passport and her CMND (National ID card) to the Local Police (Cong An Phuong) to register your two under his "Family Book" (So Ho Khau). That's what We had to do when Kim and I came back to VN in 2006 to visit her folks.
