Hi

Anyone who has done this with children could you please help me out here.

I have just recieved my biometrics letter for June 28 at 8 am in Santa Ana, fantastic! However, they sent the exact same letter for my son, who is 7. When I filed, I didn't pay for a biometrics for him because he is under 14 but does he still do one anyway?

The reason I ask is because, if I take him with me, and they don't need him, will they let him wait with me anyway? I don't really want him to be left in the car on his own!!!

Thanks in advance.

Can someone please delete all those duplicate posts?

I have no idea how that happened, sorry :(

Yes, I'm pretty sure he has to do some biometrics.. Might not be the full set but he does need them anyways..

Even if he doesn't (which he does) I"m sure they wouldnt make a 7 year old wait in the car by himself.. I'm not even sure that's legal.. so you'll be fine :) Good luck..

Thanks for the reply

I wouldn't really have left him on his own but I am sort of suprised he has to have this done too, even if it is a scaled down version.

I will post about this after 28th for anyone else who is doing this with children too. I don't remember seeing any info on it, but I could have missed it of course.

Do I-485 applicants under age 14 and over age 79, who do not need to be fingerprinted, still need to go to an appointment at an Application Support Center (ASC)?

Yes, any I-485 applicant under age 14 or over age 79 needs to have his or her photograph and signature captured at an ASC. These biometrics are needed to produce the I-551 Permanent Resident Card ("green card"). Applicants in these age groups receive specific I-485 notices that are printed with the ASC code of 2, which, when presented at the ASC, provide for the capture of the photograph and signature only.

It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
