Wedding Invitations needs translation?

Hey VJ members,

I know most people from India probably got their wedding invitations translated for the visa interview as a proof of marriage. I was wondering if anyone who got through Visa interview was asked for wedding invitations and if they made a fuss if the invitations were not in English...

It is not difficult for my husband's wedding invitation to get translated since they have some blank ones leftover from the wedding. But from my side, we only have 1 or 2 left and that too in Gujarati language. I am guessing that having Invitation printing people generate 1 invitation with the same design and then get it translated would be a paid.... The fact that my husbands interview is in different region of the country from his native place (Gujarat vs Chennai), chances of someone at embassy knowing Gujarati is very slim...

Tips, Suggestions?

They didn't ask us for the wedding invitations in the interview, but is probably a good idea to get it translated if it's relatively low effort on your end.

One thing about gujjus (I being one) is that we find our way to the remotest corners of the world...Chennai Consulate, after all, is not all that remote...you may just find a gujju translator there! :)

Haha....gujju's are everywhere, especially where you would least expect them :)

True, especially considering there are substantial numbers of gujjus living in Hyderabad and Bengaluru (both of which fall under jurisdiction of....Chennai!).
