I received my approval notice for the I-129F dated March 25, 2009. The notice reads:

"The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would now like them to forward the petition to a different consulate..."

Is there something I should do now or will the consulate (consulate means embassy in fiance's country right?) handle the next step - i.e. send package/paper work to fiance?

Grats.

Now you wait, however, read the guides and start prepping the paperwork needed!

The embassy will contact you and your beneficiary - you may want to go to their website, they usually have the info online.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS
