My fiance just received an email notifying us that the NOA 2 (application approval notice) was returned by the postal service as undeliverable. My fiance called the USCIS customer service to give them the correct address. The customer service representative made a note and said that they would contact us back within the next 45 days. Obviously we don't want to wait 45 days. How can we get USCIS to resend the notice more quickly? As a side note, the acceptance letter from the National Visa Center just arrived (so obviously they had the correct address) and the application has moved to the embassy in Bangkok. Do we need the NOA 2 to complete the fiance visa process or can we proceed without it?

From now on, the only papers needed will be the forms to be submitted to Bangkok for the visa. When it arrives, the NOA2 can be kept among your important papers, but there is no need to provide it anytime soon.

It could be that it was returned because her name wasnt on the mail box as a resident. Thats what happened to my daughters document. I did a address change notice at the P O & put her name in the box. The papers were deilvered about 3 weeks later.

I had also called USCIS & given them the correct address info & done it on line. However they told me I should have sent the A 11 form by mail to insure the change was made.

I believe you will need it for Adjustment of Status. You will apply for that after your spouse arrives in the US.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!
