a few questions about the 400 process

Timeline

first time in this forum

I can apply for the n-400 in early may.

A couple of questions and hopefully someone has a answer.

I live in florida and I am assuming the file is sent to TSC.

what is the approx timeline for approval from start to completion

looking fwd to your replies

That would be a waste of time, according to the St. Paul's posted time, today, wife would just about be ready to have her interview, she already has been a USC for the last seven months. Think they pull those dates out of a hat.

Few months to few years. Everyone is unique and it's based on you not a generic time line applied to everyone...

Oct - Job offer in US

Nov - Received my TN-1 to be authorized to work in the US

Nov - Moved to US

1998-2001

Recieved 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th TN

2002

May - Met future wife at arts fest

Nov - Recieved 6th TN

2003

Nov - Recieved 7th TN

Jul - Our Wedding

Aug - Filed for AOS

Sep - Recieved EAD

Sep - Recieved Advanced Parole

2004

Jan - Interview, accepted for Green Card

Feb - Green Card Arrived in mail

2005

Oct - I-751 sent off

2006

Jan - 10 year Green Card accepted

Mar - 10 year Green Card arrived

Oct - Filed N-400 for Naturalization

Nov - Biometrics done

Nov - Just recieved Naturalization Interview date for Jan.

2007

Jan - Naturalization Interview Completed

Feb - Oath Letter recieved

Feb - Oath Ceremony

Feb 21 - Finally a US CITIZEN (yay)

After looking at a few timelines I guess that its between 4 to 6 months for any of the processes (K1 or K3 or AOS or Removal or Citizenship) - it has held generally true in my wife's progression in each step. And yes, some people do get stuck in namechecks etc. and can take longer for any of the steps. Good Luck

July 21 Interview in Bogota ** Approved ** Very Easy!

Oct 19 Mailed AOS Packet to Chicago

2006

Feb 17 AOS interview in Denver. Biometrics also done today! (Interviewing officer ordered them.)

Apr 25 Green card received

2008

Removal of conditions

March 17 Refiled using new I-751 form

April 16 Biometrics done

July 10 Green card production ordered

2009

Citizenship

Jan 20 filed N400

Feb 04 NOA date

Feb 24 Biometrics

May 5 Interview - Centennial (Denver, Colorado) Passed

June 10 Oath Ceremony - Teikyo Loretto Heights, Denver, Colorado

July 7 Received Passport in 3 weeks

Shredded all immigration papers Have scanned images

as for the 4 to 6 months well my 751 took nearly a year.

transferred from tsc to vsc

but I reckon 6 months should do it for the n-400
