Affidavit Of Support

So I've done some searching and can't seem to find much help for this, so if anyone can point us in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated! Here's the list of questions:

1. What is the poverty limit?

2. As the main sponsor for my fiance, which form do I fill out, and if my sister is the co-sponsor, does she fill out the same form?

3. What do I/we need to send along with the correct forms? E.g. tax forms etc.

4. If we need to send tax forms, how many different ones from the last few years do we need to send?

Sorry if this has all been answered, we're very confused at the moment! Thanks for your help guys as always.

The Sam's.

Moving to consulate/embassy forum, I-134 is needed at time of interview, NOT when filing I-129F.

1) http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

2) I-134 for K-Visa interview, and then later I-864 when adjusting status.

3) The consulates tend to treat the I-134 like a mini-I-864 as so prefer the same financial evidence as the I-864.

In our case this what the I-134 included.

  • I-134.

  • SIMPLE Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq/0,,id=199557,00.html

  • Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years (Not necessary if you provide the transcripts)

  • Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.

  • Photo copies of past month or so of pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.
My income was well above the povertyline so I did not include any asset data (LIKE BANK STATEMENTS or property values).

YuandDan covered all you will need for the affidavit of support.

There is a UK thread for people waiting for interview at London, there is masses of information on there that will certainly help you.

Thanks for the replies, made things a bit clearer for us. Really do make these things as difficult as possible. What happens in the event that tax returns for the last 3 years are not available?

Thats what transcripts are for.

Note: Only past year's return (2007, soon to be 2008) tends to be required by most consulate,

I was asked to produce 2005, 2006 & 2007 at my interview earlier this year.

Well I have only been employed for the last 2 years, but my co-sponsor has more available. Would this be an issue?
Not an issue, simply note on the I-134 "Unemployed" on the line for 3 years ago.
