hi all..

finally we'd submitted DS-230 part-1,I-864 along wid PCC and all..

i have some confusion regarding notorized copies... our lawyer says i hv to go to VFS once to submit all documents (notorised copies)

CAN anyone tell me who can do notorised copies.. i mean we've to go to notary for tht or can go to any govt. approved official like principle of college or govt. officer... will it be valid?

another que. i hv is i'd submited all docs. on 17th of march when can i expect my visa call???

Once your case is completed at NVC and you get interview date(which is assigned by NVC every second week of the month for following month), then you go to VFS office 7-10 days prior to your interview date to submit courier fee and other docs. You dont have to notarized paper that you submite at VFS office, regular copy will work unless you are submiting MC/BC.

Thank you...We r planning for CR-1 Visa. So if we'd submitted everything on 17 march. I cn expect visa call in april 2nd week. Is it so?. Hw cn i knw tht our case is complete in NVC?

Since you submited your documents on March 17th most likely your case will be completed before 2nd week of april when NVC will start scheduling for May. So, you will get may interview date. Documnets that you need to submit at VFS are as follow:

3 copy of NVC interview letter

2 copy of biographic page of passport

2 2x2 photographs

DS 230 part1 and part2(they may ask for one or they may not since you submited this form with NVC)

courier fee of rupees 394

Remember to take all documents with you to VFS office incase they ask for anything else. It is always good practice to keep all documents with you.

I only chose the CR-1 route, didn't want to deal with the additional paperwork. In my case, my wife has exams for the next two weeks in India, so she couldn't attend an interview before April 10th anyways.

The mumbai letter apparently has additional instructions for VFS etc, so getting two letters makes sense.

If you are doing the K-3 route, you will be asked to submit the originals to VFS when submitting the packet 4 documents.

If you are doing the CR-1 route, you will be required to submit the originals to NVC with the DS-230 package.

which ever way you go, always keep copies of every document you submit.
