Hi all,

I am a US citizen who is ready to file I-485/I-130 for his wife. We currently live in New York but are in the process of moving to Baltimore(I work there Mon-Fri). For the next couple of months we will temporarily be in a hotel until we can find a place there.

I would appreciate help with a few confusing Qs:

* Can I use my work address in Baltimore as my address? (seems to be no place to separate mailing from physical address on the forms)

* One of the Q's asks where she intends to live? Well we can't say my office address, right?

* Also, another tough one is the last address where we lived together?

* Then of course the G-325s for the both of us: Should they have NY address currently for both or what address should I fill in (Baltimore office)?

* Also, which AOS Office should I ask for?

I don't necessarily want to put down the New York address and then do change of address to Baltimore since files can get lost, different districts etc etc :-) Waiting to file is also not an option since her OPT expires soon (and she wants to travel soon !)

Thanks for the help and this is an awesome forum!

the office address would not be wise..how would that work out when they looking thru ur evidence of a bonafide marriage? i would include the NY address...its not like they can't find that out if they want...i wouldn't give them any reason to stop and question why you didn't add anything. what do you mean which aos office you should ask for? all the applications go to one address, the chicago lockbox.

IF I WERE YOU, I WOULD FILE AOS AFTER I MOVE IN A PLACE IN BALTIMORE, BUT

IF HER VISA IS ISSUE, YOUR BEST DEAL IS TO GIVE YOUR FRIEND'S OR RELATIVE'S

ADDRESS IN BALTIMORE & EXPLAIN THIS SITUATION TO IO DURING AOS INTERVIEW.

DO NOT GIVE OLD NY ADDRESS.

IT IS NOT ADVISABLE TO CHANGE ADDRESSES DURING USCIS APPLICATION PERIOD.

EVEN IF YOU UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS LATER ON BY FILING AR-11, USCIS DOES NOT UPDATE

ALWAYS & EVERYTHING WILL GO TO ORIGINAL (OLD) ADDRESS.

SO CHOOSING ADDRESS AMONG YOUR FRIENDS' IS REALLY IMPORTANT. HE OR SHE SHOULD BE

TRUSTWORTHY. I THINK YOU GET THE PICTURE. GOOD LUCK !.....

HERE IS MY TIMELINE :

I-130 mailed 01/13/09

I-130 received by USCIS 01/16/09

NOA1 Mail for I-130 received 01/22/09

I-485 Package mailed 02/17/09

I-485 Package received by USCIS 02/20/09

NOA1 Mail for I-485 & I-765 received 02/26/09

NOA2 e-mail for I-130 Approval 03/03/09 (47 Days)

NOA2 Hard Copy of I-130 Approval received 03/07/09

Biometrics App. Mail Notice received 03/09/09 (App. Date 03/24/09)

NOTE : I DID NOT APPLY FOR I-131 (AP).

Thanks FRJ! On the I-130 form Q # 22 (Relative will do AOS at the USCIS office in City / State) is where it asks for the District office. Should we use Baltimore, DC or NY ?

I am just worried about putting in NY address and right away doing a AR-11 Change of Address and them losing/misplacing/delaying the file as it moves from NYC office to Baltimore.

Thanks Cino! If I give a friend or colleague's address in Balitmore, isn't the issue the same? We have never lived there and have no proof of that. We will be staying at a hotel paid by the company for the next couple of months. Is it better to put down my office address and explain the situation at the interview (by which time we will have a new place/lease etc)? Or go with NYC address and file Change of address ?

GIVE THE OFFICE ADDRESS THEN & EXPLAIN IT LATER ON DURING AOS INTERVIEW.

MAKE SURE YOU GO THERE WITH ENOUGH DOCUMENTS RELATED TO YOUR RENTAL

PROPERTY. (YOUR BOTH NAMES ON THE LEASE ETC......). DO NOT GIVE THE NY ADDRESS !...

YOUR MAIL WILL BE LOST, FORGET ABOUT NY ADDRESS.

GOOD LUCK !...
