I-134 information

When you fill out the I-134 question #11 make sure to check the INTEND box and state that you will support your fiance. The sample form provided on here does not do that, and I copied the sample form. Tina was given a white slip because of that and asked to bring a new I-134 in with the correction. At first the CO told her she would be denied, but she pleaded with the CO that it must have just been overlooked. Hopefully, nobody else will make that mistake. It's frutating to wait this long and get delayed even further by faulty information.

I empathize with your frustration and I am sorry that you encountered a snag in your journey. Thank you for the heads up. Many others have followed the same format presented in the guide forms here on vj with no problem. I followed it plus I also followed Sheriff Uling's K1 visa guide and have read through the FAQ portion for K1 visa forms:http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...st&p=830832 . You would find in the FAQ that the sheriff has singled out question 11 for form I-134.

The guides are merely here to guide, as I have said, there has been many who have followed the guide forms to a T and had not encountered problem. The guides are not perfect (even getting a lawyer to help is not guarantee that the visa journey will be perfect) so it would be most helpful for everyone to verify everything by posting questions on the forum and doing more research of their own. And then, sometimes, even if you had done everything to make sure everything would be in order, there is the human factor: The Consul.
