Best Website to Find Flights to Chiang Mai

I've been using Kayak.com lately and I've been fairly happy the the search results most of the time, but I'm wondering if there is a better site that someone can recommend.

It seems like all the flights are $400 or $500 more to Chiang Mai (CNX) than to Bangkok (BKK). I'm starting to think I might just fly into BKK for the night and then take a morning flight to CNX on either Airasia or ThaiAirways.

Best flight I can find from JFK to CNX is $1428 on Cathay Pacific or $1023 on All Nippon from JFK to BKK.

This your best bet. I think last time I paid 3k baht ($80) round trip from BKK to CNX on Nok Air. MAKE SURE you book the ticket to CNX from Suvhanbumi, and not Don Mueang. I almost made this mistake. Also, FYI last time I did this, I was able to check my luggage in Chiang Mai all the way back to the US, even though it was two separate tickets, which was nice. I did the same thing coming back from Roi Et to Dallas last week with the Roi Et ticket on Nok Air, and the Dallas ticket on Korean Air. Worked out fine both times.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

I would also recommend flying into BKK and taking a connecting flight up to Chiang Mai. My fiancée lives in Nan province (also in the North) and I end up taking the 11 hour overnight bus trip up there, mostly due to the high cost and infrequent flights to there.

With Air Asia, it's best to book 2 months + in advance to take advantage of cheap tickets. Any time closer, and the price balloons.
