credential evaluation for a two-year course???

hi, i'm planning to apply for a job that's related to my field as soon as i can get my EAD. BTW, i finished a two-year midwifery course in the Philippines and had a previous experience in a hospital in middle east. do you think a two-year foreign course has any equivalent here in US? I'm planning to use WES but it's just a two-year course and not a BS degree anybody here who had credential evalution before?

We just got back my husband's evaluation from the WES. It's a good way of determining what your credentials are worth. Just review it and make sure it makes sense. When we received Marco's report they ignored a lot of his classes (he's using it to transfer credit into a University here). They did award him the correct degree though. - and it was the equivalent of the length of the degree he studied in Germany. The international adviser at his University is in the process of corresponding with the WES to get some of the classes ironed out.

The best way is to find a similar course being offered in the area where you live, and have your previous coursework evaluated. Often, even those courses you were not given direct credit for, can be challenged by examination. More than likely, you will have to talk to the department head of the institution about both possibilities. There are several Filipino professional organizations in the US you can contact that could help you with networking with other Filipinos in your field.
