I posted this on the consulate board but no answer yet. Maybe I can get some assistance here?

Trying to complete this form and I'm wondering about question 7. I've heard that on the part that asks about how much I have in savings that it's best to leave it blank or to put a zero. Does anyone know if this is the best thing to do? What have you guys put for that?

I have a couple other questions as well. When it says they want this form and the employer and bank letter all in duplicate. Am I to do one original and also send along a copy to the interview of these things? They don't really specify and I want to make sure I get it right.

Also, when having my employer and bank write the letters how should they address it? Is it "To Whom It May Concern"? Or do they need to be specific and say to what consulate it's going to? Freda said she thought her fiance's employer put "To Whom It May Concern"

Sorry for all the questions. I just want to be sure I'm getting this done right. Thanks so much.

As long as your income exceeds the 125% you should be ok - we didn't list any assets on the form.

Ours were addressed "to whom it may concern".

I don't quite remember, but I think we had two originals!

Hope this helps :)

So on the assets you just left all the lines blank?

I didn't want to put zero when that's not true on the savings part and besides that, they'll have that info from the bank in the first place. However, I was afraid if I left them all blank they'd get upset with that.

I might just be overthinking everything but they're so particular about all of the forms and how they're completed I want to make my fiance's interview as painless as possible.

If you put an amount, you'll have to prove you have that amount. If you put zero, like we did, you won't have to prove anything.

Our letter wasn't addressed to anyone, it was more of a statement.

xxxx xxxxx has worked here since xxxx, earning xxxx, ... etc.
