Hi jose and everyone here!

How's helen? does she manage to fly to illinois now? As for me i passed everything in Embassy before helen, but me and my fiance got some delays from church here in manila, they dont want me to fly with Ryan last Apr. 3 , so im still here in manila but i already rebooked my ticket and my son Lloyd on Apr 25. It's more into culture thing in Manila, my church here thinks that im eloping with an american guy and im tried living-in together, so wer just waiting and trying to obey church. But im keen to fly to ATL by 3rd week of April with my son.

Question: Is it true or anyone here been gone through POE of ATL sucks??? anyone had experiencing entering ATL here? i dont have choice dats my POE bcos my fiance is from Atlanta. Ive read some info from other post in VJ. thats why my fiance tried to visit manila to accompany me in interview and also thru POE bcos ATL was a big terminal and uses train to shift terminals for u to collect ur luggages.

say my regards to Helen, Thanks!

-rebelheart-

Ok I would appreciate some input from the group.

As I am typing this my fiance is getting her passport , now

In 1996 when she gave birth to her son she was using a different name ( baptismal ) that was placed on the birth certificate. Also , for some bizzare reason , her father changed the spelling of the families last name by one letter

Ok, as far as Rosemarie's I -129 is concerned and other picture ID , and her own birth certificate they are correct, it is her sons. It is his birth certificate that is ascue; he is included on her visa petition

Now I was thinking her are my choices

1) Go ahead with the interview and physcial on May 9th and 16 th , see what flys ???? Get the white slip /AR and go from there

2) Postpone the interview and physcial , and get the new correct birth certificate/ passport ; then get them to their physcial and interview together ??? 2 months for correct one to be issued thru the NSO ??

Is there a rush processing fee I can pay the NSO ???

It is kinda boiling into a logistics problem being he is 10 yr old and in Cebu ?????

Good luck and Thanks

Brad

yove just went through a similar situation we had everything corrected in 2 weeks new birth certificate an new passport to match the application

This is not accurate at all, you can not "Legally" change a BC in 2 weeks. Trust me i know, i wasted 100 bucks. It takes 3-4 months time to correct a BC if it's a typo. You can't change names without having a lawyer and going to court. There is no rush processing for NSO, if anyone says so they aren't doing it the legal way. NO ONE in the NSO offices have the authority to change a BC, you have to file with your Local Registry or Consul General. Consul General is the only one that can approve a change and just the mandatory wait time is around 25 days. It's pretty big jail time if you get it changed the fast way and they never changed it in the system and the Embassy inquires about it, which they most likely will if her and her sons BC aren't the same.

I assume by ascue you mean his last name is different. If you want to correct it and it's not a typo it takes 3-6 months to change. A lawyer in Manila told us that also.

My advice is either to just try with what you have and be honest or postpone the interview like i did and file for a change. In my situation we had no choice but to postpone it and correct the BC, because we would prolly have got denied. We decided to take the extra 5 months or so to get it right and not have to worry about getting denied or worse.

I have a link that shows how to go about a change and lists the requirements. http://www.census.gov.ph/data/civilreg/irr_ra9048.html

Let me know if i understood your situation right.:yes:

Windchaser 4 :

Here is the deal; her father changed the spelling of the name using a "s" to a " c" every other letter in the last name is the same.

Rosemarie's name on her sons BC is " Rhea Rose " her baptismal name, Rosemarie has all correct documents BC, college ID, Post office ID all with Rosemarie and the correct spelling of her last name

Now here is what I thinking :

Option 1) Go ahead with the interview as planned and see what flies ??

Option 2) Go ahead with interview as planned , just with Rosemarie, kid is sick and see if she can get her visa approved; leave him in limbo, will they do that ??? Fix later

Option 3 ) Postpone interview and wait for correct BC to get correct passport

St lukes physcial is good for 6 months, correct and they do need a passport to take it ?

Thanks

Brad

More power to yah if you did that way legally i just don't see how that is legal according to the law but you know how things work in the Philippines. Anyways, we talked to lawyers, NSO in Manila and the Local Registry not to mention the laws in place. They gave us no other option but to file locally and wait. We even ask to do it in Manila but they wouldn't let us because her hometown has a LR. So here we are waiting for almost a month now.

actually Yove just told me her Uncle's best friend is the mayor of her province she actually campaigned for him when she was in college, i guess he autherized the city clerk to go to manila to correct the error in her birth certificate although we paid for the expenses he did expediate it for us. in this case i guess its more who ya know then what ya know,

so i guess my previous info was lacking all the facts

and patiently waiting you know you're in our prayers you have waited long enough!

Thank you, purple!

lol congratz i wish they could be more clear at the time of the interview sounds like there surely lacking in that dept.

The notice below is written in the “Visa Delivery Fee Payment” document that the embassy gives out after the interview. This probably explains the lack of a clear message if one is approved or not. And I quote:

“No embassy representative is authorized to tell applicants or petitioners that a visa has been approved until a consular officer authorizes printing of the visa. We are unable to predict when an applicant would qualify for visa issuance. DO NOT finalize travel plans, dispose of properties, or resign from your jobs until a visa is actualy issued and delivered to you.)"

Reading from this, the consul is not really authorized to say whether one is approved or not.

Hello everyone..I have question about that CFO seminar. The gal I spoke with from cfo manila said I dont need to make an appt for my fiance..its a walk in basis. All he has to bring is 3 identification card and the 250 pesos. The time is either 10-12, 1-3, 3-??...so its not really a whole day seminar..more like 3 hrs? Am I right? Kinda confuse with the location..the gal said its on Aurora Blvd, but the address on the website says 1345 president quirino ave????

Catherine

Hi Catherine,

The requirements for CFO seminar are:

1) Original passport

2) Original and photocopy of visa (if available)

3) P250 for registration and P250 for sticker (not sure about the sticker fee, can someone pls. confirm?)

4) Valid ID (passport , NBI clearance, driver’s license, etc.)

The CFO address in Pres. Quirino Ave., I think, is the main office but the seminar for fiancees is conducted at the ff address:

St. Mary’s Euphrasia

Good Shepherd

1043 Aurora Blvd

Quezon City

(take LRT2 and get off at Katipunan station)

Yes, it’s walk-in. Seminars are conducted Monday-Friday at 10am, 1:30pm and 3:30 pm. Registration is at 8am~3pm. Of course, as with government offices, these are subject to change without prior notice.

For more info, call tel. 911-1814

Oh, one clerk at the NSO office in Cebu said it would take 3-5 months  ; Rosemarie is going back tomorrow afternoon to meet another lady that said she could put a rush on it ( read I need a payment , under the counter  ) Geeze this aint looking good

Purple, be careful dealing with the “under the table” lady. If the “corrected BC” that this lady comes up with does not match up with the record at NSO’s main office in Manila, Rosemarie will be in trouble if the embassy discovers the discrepancy.

If the BC error is not "typographical" in nature but involves a completely different name, then Rosemarie may have to go through the courts. Her case is not a simple typo error.

Not sure on the location but i know they wanted info on the K-1/K-3 petitioner also, they wanted my tax returns to show i was single. They actually wanted all the copies of my fiancees papers i sent her for the interivew! I said NO WAY!

I noticed from postings that the CFO seems to require more documents if the applicant applies for CFO seminar before the visa is issued. They seem to ask for more info and documents from the Filipina fiancee so they can check on the background of the US fiance. Having the visa in hand, however, assures the CFO that the necessary background checks have been done by the US Embassy hence they are less strict. But, that’s just my observation. I really don’t know how the CFO thinks.

Malambing is approved!!!:dance:  As I have read here or on asawa.org it appears the interview was more of a formality. My fiancee saw a large approved stamp on her file as soon as the officer opened her file to begin the interview. The questions asked were very simple and matter of fact. She was very prepared for all type questions regarding our relationship, but it was not needed. Although her complete preparation gave her confidence with the officer. Now hoping for a quick visa delivery and an immediate ticket to Long Beach, CA. Steve

My Interview today was ok. They asked about my fiances name, age and other details. Where he is working and the ultimate qustion was "What is his best attributes?". The consul was smiling after i answered then i went to window 35. I got the PINK slip only. And stupid of me i didnt ask what it meant. I paid the delbros fee.

That's a good thing by the way. That is what we received as well. Congrats.

Steve
I just got off the phone with Lorainne (she still is my favorite at the embassy...such a nice girl) And I was told that the consul finished evaluation this morning and the visa will be printed tomorrow or monday. :D congratulations malambing!

Congrats to you both and happy flying to your loved one and enjoy it. I know I will today as I will be picking up my wife at the Chicago Ohare today.

Thanks

Brad

I'm assuming then that her sons last name is also a "S" not a "C". Just my opinion but if you can prove that that was her name when her son was born i wouldn't see a issue with her first name, the only thing i worry about i guess is the last name typo. I hate to tell you to go ahead and goto the interview and then get denied, i would think they would just give you a AR for him if they wouldn't accept it but that's not based on fact or knowledge of how they do things. I think it also depends on the Consular you get. If it were me, i would call the Embassy and ask about the specific problem with the BC, they can't tell you how to fix it but they may be able to tell you if you might get denied or not.

I think your option #2 might be correct, if everything is in place for her they may approve her and not him. But we are only K-1 so my knowledge about that isn't 100%. The only thing about St Lukes is that if you have to correct the BC 6 months may get tight i dunno, i hope ours is faster than the 3-4 month time.

Take it as you will, i would hate to tell you one way and then it go way wrong. You can always play it safe and get it change but of course that is your call. ^_^
