Hello,

I am an american citizen. I recently met a women from the Philipines back in December of 08. I visited there and stayed 2 weeks with her in Dasmaranas, Cavite. We have a house there that we are renting at the present time. She is living there now and I am back here in the states working. We talk on Yahoo chat everyday and night.

To get to my point. I am a journyman welder and I travel all over the states working in oil refineries, powerplants, chemical plants and food processing plants. I would like to take my trade to the philipines but am not aware of any contractors that have work over there. I want to work there and be with my girl because it is going to be along process for her to come here. We are working on getting her anullment which will take at least 6 months according to her lawyer and then we need to go through the process of fianace visa which will take another 6-9 months so it is going to be along time before we can be together in the states. I am just asking if anyone is aware of any work or any place I can call or check about employment there for my trade.

I know this is way off topic but I am really not sure where else to go.

Thanks

It will be very difficult to find work there. I have spent hours seeking work there, not much available there. If you find work there it will be at philippines pay scale. Do you work for two thousand per year??? If so there may be a job for you!!!

You'd have to get a work Visa to be able to work over there for starters. Second, whatever kind of pay you get now, you should expect to get a lot less over there.

Here's a site for general info on living and working there:

And for applying for a work Visa:

Well, I know the pay scale is very small there. I know they dont make much per year also compared to what I am used to making, but I was hoping maybe there was an Amerian based company that was working there that would pay me what american wages.
