I believe my fiance passport expires next year.

First, does the number change on the passport?

Second, we are about to send our k-1 paperwork with the NEW I-129F included...

how do you go about transfering the visa into a new passport if we get the visa before it expires?

Does anyone have any information or advice about this?

I'll be your pal!? :star:

ajames,

The passport is going to have to be valid for a period of at least 6 more months when the visa is issued. Make sure the passport has at least that much time remaining at the interview date.

The consulate will require the passport to be valid for 6 months from the time the visa is issued. If the passport will expire less than 6 months from the time of your visa, you need to have it renewed ahead of time. The K1 visa will have to be used within 6 months, so there is no issue of having it transferred from one passport to another.
