Hi Everyone,

My wife and I currently reside with my parents in California. Because they qualify as household members, they are filling out an I-864a so they can use their income to help us meet the requirements of the I-864. However, they always file their income taxes jointly, so I can't tell what my Dad's Income is and what my Mom's income is. It's just one combined number for the both of them.

There is no way on the I-864a to list two people in one form, so what should I do?

Thanks and have a great day,

Dane

Hello Again,

I guess I'd like to attach this question to my first question. I know there are a lot of repeat questions on these boards and I have spent a lot of time searching for previous posts to see if anything answers my question. However, I have yet to find anything.

My second question is this. I know that when listing an asset for your I-864, they want proof of ownership, date of aquisition, and how much the item is worth.

When it comes to listing a house as an asset, is there a list anywhere that I can see that will tell me every piece of evidence regarding that house I need in order to satisfy the Government's requirements?

Also, what is the best way to figure out the worth of the house? Should I send in City reports on medium housing prices? Maybe I could go to City Hall and have someone sign a document that lists the average cost of homes in that city.

Thanks and have a great day,

Dane

Nobody here has ever had an I-864a household resident that files their tax return jointly with their spouse?

Nobody here has ever correctly listed a house as an asset on their I-864?

We're both just a little scared because we're so far along in the process and we don't want to screw up now by doing something wrong. We are going to request another question and answer session with our local USCIS office, but we rarely, and I mean rarely, get the right information. If someone even has an opinion on these matters, we would greatly appreciate it.

Have a great day,

Dane
