AOS Interview Appointment Letter

We received our interview appointment letter today and the wording worries me.

It says Request for Applicant to Appear for Initial Interview.

Is this standard? If the request is for an initial interview does that mean there will be a second interview at a later date?

We filed for AOS in December and we did not yet receive our EAD or Advance Parole documents yet. Is it unusual to

be interviewed before EAD and AP are received?

hi there,

that was the wording on our interview document as well. i believe that is the standard. there are people who have had second interviews which are usually the stokes interview and generally because of suspected fraud.

good luck!

I filed for AOS in November, did not get my interview letter yet. I don't think anything is either normal or abnormal with USCIS processing times! I am starting to feel they are overwhelmed with applications and are probably doing the best they can (or so I hope). As for timelines and stuff, it really depends on where your application was sent and which office is processing your application. They all have various timelines.

Hi there,

I also filed AOS in December 2008 and just received a letter request to appear for initial interview. I got my biometrics all done in mid January but no AP or EAD yet. Any ideas what to prepare for the initial interview?

Thanks!

Ginny
