Hey guys. I know all of you have gone back and forth visiting before so can someone help me???

I have travelled for only 2 weeks max over to the UK, but now my daughter and I want to stay 3 1/2 months. What do I need besides my passport and info for my daughter? I was going to get a Letter of Sponsorship from my boyfriend but what proof does he need attached? Do I need proof of funds and proof of my return (job/house) other than my return ticket?

Anyone aid is needed?

Thanks!

I stayed in UK for 5 months, went to Holland with him came back and was granted another 6 months. The first entrance was no biggie. They didn't ask for anything. The second entrance was a little different since I had been in UK for 5 months. They questioned me about his birthdate and other personal details, what paperwork (and they wanted numbers) I intended to file for him through US Immigration, and my flight reservation number. We took a big gamble there by guessing dates and booking a flight before being granted re-enty...I don't recommend that! Luckily the officer was most helpful and granted me another 6 months. I can remember being red faced, hearing my heart beat so loudly I could barely hear her questions and freaking out. Just be honest! I don't think that any sort of proof to return would be a bad idea!

OH didn't have any proof when he came over for 4-6 months at a time during his sabbatical. They asked why he was visiting and what he did for a living, but that was about it.

Hiya! Because you have been to the UK before, and you are traveling with your daughter, it is very wise to have a letter of support from your boyfriend along with bank account statement from him proof of funds from yourself if you have any. You should also show that you have a job, and show your return ticket. They will question you at customs, just be honest with them.

I can tell you, I was over here last Jan.2005 to meet Ian (for 2 weeks), then came back in May and had to show all of that when I came back. I was only suppose to stay for 3 months, but Ian and I wanted to make sure that getting married was what we both wanted so I stayed, then come October 2005, Ian and I went to Spain for a week so I could get another stamp. I was given a very hard time and they even said that it all depends on who you get at customs, meaning even back in May I could have been deported back. Don't take the risk. Even if they don't ask you for all of that, better safe than sorry.
